Hi guys!I was doing my standard clean install from scratch, using 1703/Creators Update, and got all the way through with no problems. Then I proceeded to adding my MS account so that I could add a second MS account for a generic user I have created.Everything went fine, the account was added, until trying to do the 'Verify' step - and here is the really odd part - where it usually obscures the first few letters of my email address, it now suddenly shows the whole thing.
Can T Verify Microsoft Account Email
Then it fails on verify every time with a 0x801901f4 error.I made sure it got all updates. I have pursued all known threads for this error, and reached only dead ends. Finally, I gave up and did a full reset on the machine - built it all back up again, and it does exactly the same thing! The odd thing is, it allows me to log on just fine, only the 'verify' part is broken.
It isn't just a momentary lapse at MS, it has been more than 24 hours since it started. Thank you for your help! They are Windows 10 Pro, automatically activated from the licensing in the BIOS. MS accounts do not have anything to do with Windows activation.Yes, after setting up machines with a local account, my final step is to switch from using the local account to using my MS account. Then I add another generic MS account that I use with multiple machines - it is a 'child' account under family safety, which puts some restrictions on the users.
Then I switch it back to use the local account. I have dozens of machines running this way for years with no problems. The problem the past few days is that after switching to my MS account, I can log in with it just fine, I just cannot verify it.
Everything else still works fine.
.Helpful resources.General rules. Follow. Keep it civil and on topic.
I've been trying to setup a Microsoft Account, but I don't have a cell phone. I tried contacting MS Support and they basically told me to get a cell phone.I think it's honestly ridiculous given that I gave them my alternate email address and my home phone number, but still I need a cell to receive the activation code.I just want to try out Windows 10 with Cortana and whatever other MS Account features it has since I've never used any of that stuff before (I strictly use Windows 7).Has anyone else tried (and succeeded) in setting up an account without a cell phone? Also, I tried using a whole slew of services/applications that give you a temporary 'text-enabled' phone number, but the MS Account sign up said it couldn't use those numbers.Edit: I tried the solutions you offered, still haven't been able to get a verification code. I guess I'll just wait it out for now. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a cell phone soon lol. It's almost like Microsoft wants you to buy a Windows phone huh?I signed up back when I still had a smartphone, I don't keep any cell phones now. Google voice is good other than the daily calls from prisons all over the U.S.
Can't Verify Microsoft Account Email
Saying that such and such correctional institute has a call from an inmate and to call their financing office to setup a credit card (because they can't call collect to a Google voice number). I'm guessing that I got stuck with a number for somebody that used to know a lot of criminals all over the U.S.But at least the names that they say are the caller make for a good laugh most of the time like 'daddy' and '8x6' etc.Maybe you have a friend or relative with a text capable phone that can accept the text and let you know what it is.Or perhaps if you're not in the U.S.
Then maybe you can setup a U.S. Disposable number and give that to Google voice to setup a google voice number and then use that, or a friend or relative in the U.S. (most of us know people from other countries now that the internet has brought everybody so much closer).
I can't verify the identity of my Windows user account (Microsoft Account) on my Genuine Windows 10 on my laptop. But, I can access my Outlook Email and Microsoft Account that connected to that Windows user account. I upgraded the security info about my latest mobile number, because I lost my handphone. When I verify the identity of my main user account in Settings Accounts Your Info Verify. There is no choice for my latest mobile number, but ONLY option for my old number. Next, according to the instructions provided, I chose the 'I don't have any of these'option and click 'Update Online' then updating my Microsoft account's info security, but when I am back to the Settings, there is still no option for my latest mobile number. I have tried to click it many times, but my latest mobile number is not listed.
So I still can't verify the identity of my Windows account.I have repeatedly tried this, including updating the security info about my latest mobile number for my Microsoft account and then restarting Windows 10, but there is still no choice of my latest number for identity verification. However, I can verify identity on the Administrator account on Windows 10 on my laptop.So. What should I do? Is it important to verify the identity of a Microsoft user account in Windows 10? Can I change the Microsoft email address on a Windows account that has already been created? See this for ID verification procedure: I already did it, many times.
The problem is that procedure does not list the option for my new cellphone number, but only the old one. Even after I updated my Microsoft account's security info, it still does not list my new cellphone number.I lost my cellphone. Breath of the wild zelda mod. I can access the old number.it still looks like something Microsoft can fix, as if you added the phone number already, it should be appearing in the list. I expect they are the ones who have to add it.
